Senior Hurlers V St. Fechins (Louth)

9 April, 2012

The senior hurlers welcomed back Liam Kenny and Michael Lee from injury and between them contributed four goals and six points, a lovely, but windy evening for hurling began with our lads exploding from the blocks hitting 2.04 before the opposition St Fechins of Louth registered their first point. There was no easing off from our boys and went on to put 6.10 on the board for half time, Gearoid and Arran picked up where they left off the last day, controlling the mid-field, Keily,  Harry and Luke let very little through, and the match was well over as a contest by half time. We move safely through to the next stage of this competition, unfortunately Darragh Moloney went over on that ankle again and will surely be out for a few weeks, Liam Kenny came off at half time just to keep him sound, as that old thigh injury keeps reoccurring, Ronan O'Brien was introduced for him at full forward, Hendo is also on the injury list and hopefully he will be back in time for the semi final. Willie Nolan was back on the score sheet, with Eoin Mason and Christy Moorehouse firing over points from all angles. We have seen great turnout for training so far this year and the work the lads are putting in, is clearly showing in their play on the field. The final score in this match was 7.14 to 1.13. Many thanks to our Lady followers for all there hard work and sandwich making afterwards in the clubhouse, much appreciated.

Training is Thursday night at 7pm and we have a challenge match Sat evening 6 o clock in Ballyboden (14th April).
