Junior footballers defeat Laragh

20 September, 2013

The Junior Footballers played their final home game of their Division 3 campaign when they played Laragh in perfect conditions at Páirc Emmet Bhré on Friday evening, 20th September. Despite missing a few regulars, Emmets got off to a fine start and were dominating the game when Eoin McMahon goaled midway through the first half. However, Laragh got themselves back into contention as the home side began to struggle to take their scores and at the break, Emmets led by 1-7 to 0-6. The second half began with the visitors applying more pressure on the Bray defence but a goal by Enda Molloy steadied the ship and Emmets held on for a fine win. Final score: Bray Emmets 2-9 Laragh 0-12. On the night, Bray were best served by the evergreen Conor Spillane at corner back, Enda and Dan Molloy who combined well down the left throughout the game, Oisin O hAnnaidh and Ray Lambe at midfield, Eoin McMahon who kicked some fine long range scores and linked up well with Gar Crowley, who himself was a constant threat to the Laragh defence.
