Junior Footballers return to action

1 August, 2013

The Junior Footballers returned to competitive action for the first time since the end of May when they travelled to Ashford on Thursday evening, 1st August. The game was played with real intensity but the greasy conditions made it difficult for players on both sides. The lead was exchanged throughout the first half and this pattern continued after half-time when there was rarely more than a point between the teams. The decisive score came late in the second half when a high ball into the Bray square, one of many on the night, was punched to the net. Emmets probably had the opportunities to seal victory before that goal but despite the result, the game was ideal preparation for the upcoming Junior B Championship which begins on Thursday 15th August.
Best for Bray on the night were Keith Hillick, Mark Mulvaney, Oisin Ó hAinnidh and Gar Crowley.
