Junior's advance to Championship semi-finals

26 August, 2012

Bray Emmets 3.14 - Valleymount 0.04

The Men's junior football team travelled to Roundwood on Sunday morning for their quarter final encounter with Valleymount. On a perfect morning for football, Bray took an early lead with some good scores in the first half from play and an excellent free kick from Jamie Queeney.  Bray were ahead 1-7 to 0-1 point at half time. In the second half Bray slowly took control of the game, Valleymount conceded an early own goal, from a shot in to the 6 yard box by Ross Masterson. A third goal scored by Enda O'Maolmhuidh, and with further points from Enda, Dave Sullivan, and John O'Leary,  Bray ran out comfortable winners with a score line of 3-14 to 0-4 pints. Valleymount did have plenty of chances from play in the second half, but were guilty of shooting over 9 wides.

Over all it was a good team performance from the Bray team, with some good defending by our backs, and some very good scores from play taken by our forwards.

We now play our neighbours Kilmac in the semi final of the Junior C Championship.

There is training every Thursday evening for the junior panel at 7.00pm in Old Conna.

The junior football team would like to wish our Senior Footballers every success in their quarter final encounter next Sunday against Rathnew.
