Junior B's start on the right foot

26 July, 2012

The Men's Junior football team got their Championship campaign off to a good start with a victory over Coolkenno last Thursday evening in Aughrim. On a perfect evening for football, the game was evenly contested in the first half, with some good scores from play. Tadgh Doran took an excellent point from a free early on, but had to retire early due injury. He was placed by Matt Thompson, who came close to scoring a goal on his introduction. John Mahony got the only goal of the first half, and Bray were ahead 1-4 to 3 points at half time. In the second half Bray slowly took control of the game and with a 2nd goal for John Mahony, and some well taken scores from our forwards, the game ended 2-9 to 5 points in our favour. Over all it was a good team performance from the Bray team, with some excellent defending by our backs, and some very good scores from play taken by our forwards.

The team lined out as follows, Keith Hillick, Gavin Cahill, Rob McNamee, Mark Nolan, Dan Molloy, Geoff Morrissey, Ross Masterson, Alan Wallace, Jamie Queenry, Tadgh Doran, Sean Liddy, Eoin Mason, John Mahony, Dave Gilmore, and Declan Snow. Matt Thompson for Tadgh Doran, Stephen Ebbs.

There is training every Tuesday evening for the Junior football panel at 7.00pm in Old Conna. New or not so new players are always welcome.
