Junior Hurlers loose out to Arklow Rocks

24 April, 2013

The Junior Hurlers began their season on Wednesday, 24th April with a tie against Arklow Rock Parnells. Some early good work and fine scores from Nicky Sweeney and Dara Maloney didn’t prevent Arklow from being deserving half-time leaders with Bray seeming to struggle to shake off the winter cobwebs. The second-half was a very different tale. Liam Kenny entered the fray and gave Bray more strength in the middle. Luke O’Reilly battled hard and Tom Cash got the vital breaks he needed to ripple the opposition’s net. At the final whistle, only two points separated the teams; Arklow Rock Parnells 2-16 Bray Emmets 3-11.
The 2012 Hurler-of-the-Year award was presented afterwards to a very worthy recipient, Billy Brazil. Comhgairdeas leis agus beimid ag imirt i gcoinne Western Gaels sa chéad chluiche eile i bPáirc Emmet Bhré Dé Céadaoin beag seo ag 7:15pm.
