Junior Hurling V Arklow Rocks

11 May, 2011

Emmet Bhré  1 - 16,

Arklow Rocks  2 - 9,

The junior hurlers recorded their much-welcomed first win of this campaign against an eager and capable Arklow side. Bray fielded a young, yet strong 15 many of whom have hurled together from an early age. Cathal Wogan steadied the ship in the opening quarter with a very cleanly taken goal. Further points followed from Willy Nolan and the pacy Nicky Sweeney in midfield. In the second-half, defence was high priority. Goal-keeper Peter O'Reilly and John Ward were rocklike in that regard. However, it was a man-of-match performance ultimately from Dara Maloney, scoring from the ground and open play that was the difference between these two evenly balanced teams.
