Glenealy
22 June, 2009
Bray Emmets 1 - 7
Glenealy 2 - 17
This junior hurling championship match was competitive and sore
on the knuckles. A youthful and hungry Glenealy led from the
off. Full-back Dara Wade's return was a baptism of manic
defence. The full-back line and Goalkeeper, Mark Cowley worked like
ants. Up front, Mick Byrne provided scores which were hard come
by. In the second half, Bray settled, consolidated at
midfield and took the game to their Glenealy neighbours. A point
from new-man Peter O'Reilly plus a deserved penalty confidently
drilled home by Colie Browne saw out the evening.
