Bray Emmets 0 - 14 Vs Carnew 7 - 12
This Junior Hurling fixture would not have been fulfilled
without the obliging Christy Maloney taking the whistle at very
late notice. A fairly contested but robust encounter saw Bray
stretched to the limit by a Carnew team containing many players
with genuine Intermediate potential. The first half saw three fine
Mick Byrne points, complimented by another stylish score from Danny
Eglinton. The Carnew juggernaut, despite the full-blooded efforts
of Billy Brazil and Darragh Maloney never eased up.
The second half was again evenly contested in many parts of the
field. Diarmaid O Murchú made his presence felt in the half-back
line, and Pádraig Nolan stole back two fine points. Colie Browne,
despite an unsightly hand-injury and Jordan Lee worked tirelessly
throughout.
