Minor Football Championship
Bray Emmets had a good win over Luke O'Tooles in the Championship recently with a score line of 0-16 to 2-3.   The team is suffering most of the summer from an incomplete squad as 7 players have been missing during that time. However some younger players have taken their opportunity and performed extremely well. Stephen Corton and Ronan Cunningham were two of those players who came from the under 16 and slotted in well for this game. There were however a lot of misses due to the unsettled nature of the team. There were overall good performances by Fergal Devlin, Conor Power, Jordan Egan, Paul Cunningham, John Breslin and Caileann Murphy. corers were David Haughton 0-7, Paul Cunningham 0-2, Ronan Cunningham 0-2, Robin OSullivan 0-2, Ross Murphy 0-1, Fergal Devlin 0-1 and Declan Snow 0-1

Senior football
Bray Emmets 3-09 Donard/Glen 1-07
The Emmet's senior footballers had a somewhat flattering eight points victory over Donard/Glen in the SFL at Old Connaught on Sunday 12th August.    While the display in the first ten minutes and last ten was very good what happened in between will be a cause for concern for the management team.   Donard/Glen is a useful outfit and put the Emmet's players under pressure for long periods of the game.  The Emmet's started well and had a goal from Paddy Moynihan after five minutes but after that score their play became very scrappy.   They lost Daragh O hAnnaidh with a facial injury, which required hospital treatment, just before half time. The Emmet's led by two points at half time, 1-02 to 3pts. Donard/Glen continued to play well in the second half and scored a goal to go two points ahead.   The Emmet's finished well with goals from Eamonn Furlong and Paddy Moynihan and two points  from Tom Walsh. This was a good hard game for the team and  they are sure to get another hard game in Tinahely next Saturday when the play the home team in the league.
Best for the Emmet's, were John Walsh, Oisin O' Hannaidh, Ciaran Cassidy, Tom Walshe, Brian O' Keefe, Paddy Moynihan and Eamonn Furlong.
Scorers: Paddy Moynihan 2gls, Conor Flannery 6pts, Eamonn Furlong 1gl, Tom Walshe 2pts, Mikey Browne 1pt.

Junior A Hurling
Bray Emmets 0-14 -- Barndarrig 2-8.
Limerick-Tipperary,Waterford-Cork and now Bray Emmets-Barndarrig. Both teams played out a very exciting draw in this Pat Reid Junior A Hurling  semi-final in Pearse Park, Arklow on Saturday 11th August. The Emmets started  this game very tentatively and allowed Barndarrig to forge into a five  point lead before Emmets brought it back to three points at half  time with the scoreline Emmets 0-8,Barndarrig,2-5. After a team talk at half time Emmets came  out a different team and slowly but surely began to eat at the Barndarrig  lead, thanks mainly to the accurate free taking of Colm Browne. Indeed with  time almost up supersub Dermot Potts put Emmets ahead and drama at the last  as Barndarrig got a twentyone yard free and put it over over the bar, game  over ,draw. Both teams delighted to be given the chance to go at it again.
Emmets team: MPriest  snr, D.Phelan,  D.Wade, P.OConnell, M.Walsh, C..Delaney, E.Bourke, C.Browne, E.Douglas, J Ward,  T.Cowan, R.Conway, D.Glynn, R.Mason, M.Byrne. Subs,C.OKeeffe for R.Conway,D.Potts for  M.Byrne

SENIOR LADIES BACK ON TRACK

Bray Emmets  2-12   Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney 2-04

Bray Emmets senior  ladies shook off the disappointment of their recent championship final defeat with an emphatic home league win over rivals Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney (AGB). The sides last met in the championship semi-final a few short weeks ago with Bray coming out on top with a late extra time goal. This was an important match for both sides as only a single point advantage for Bray separated the teams at the top of the league table going into the game. Any doubts over Bray's enthusiasm for this encounter were quickly dispelled as they came out of the blocks with all guns blazing with an early goal and point from talented corner-forward Mikaela Shelly. Bray continued to pressurise the AGB defence and were it not for some near misses and good saves from the Arklow keeper, the match could have been well and truly sealed at an early stage. However, Bray continued to advance and despite a goal for AGB somewhat against the run of play, the home side dominated throughout the first-half with their rehaped side creating some fine moves to produce two points and a goal from Sinead Boland, and further points from Ashling O'hAnnaidh and Laura Richardson. Bray had  played fast-flowing football into space and a fine defensive performance led by Caroline Bolger and Aoife Heffernan, restricted the vistors to just two scores in the first half. Bray led at the interval by seven points, but injuries to key players Lisa Brady, who was having a fine game and Mikaela Shelley seemed to give AGB an extra incentive to push forward. They were quickly awarded with an early second half point, but again Bray showed their superiority with three well taken points from Eaodine Lenihan who had an excellent game at half-forward.. But AGB never gave up and on 12 minutes they got their reward when a high ball deceived the Bray keeper and floated into the back of the net. The margin was again down to seven points, but the Bray keeper, Catherine Corbet quickly made amends with an absolutely outstanding save from a penalty as she dived low to her right to save from the Arklow full-forward Liz Fahy. This was not to be Arklow's day and Bray re-affirmed their superiority as they once again began to get a grip on the game with points from substitutes Joy Russell and Megan Shelley. This was a very sporting contest, played in an excellent spirit but  as the game approached the final whistle, a serious collar bone injury to Arklow's Claire Kavanagh necessitated a call to the ambulance service. Hopefully she will make a speedy recovery. The match finished with an eight point winning margin for Bray leaving them firmly in control at the top of the league table.
Senior Championship- Bray Emmets 0-19 An Tochar 0-3.
The Emmet's senior footballers won their last championship game in their group when they beat An Tochar at Greystones on Monday 23rd July. Bray and Newtown were already through in the Group. The Emmet's played well on the night and got some good scores. An Tochar were short a number of players and found it difficult to contain the Bray forwards. Scorers for Bray, Conor Flannery, 10pts, Paddy Moynihan 4pts, Tom Walshe, 2pts, Niall Mc Graynor, Des Kelly, Mikey Browne 1pt each.

Senior Football League: Bray Emmet's 4-07, Aughrim 0-8.
The Emmet's had what can best be described as a laboured win over Aughrim in Old Connaught on Saturday 28th July. Missing a number of players through county duty, injuries and other reasons, the team struggled to put their game together on the night. When scoring opportunities were made, many of them were missed. This game was a wake up call for the management team and players as the quarter final of the championship approaches. The positives from the game were the performances of some of the players brought in for this game. Paul O' Keeffe did well in goal, Ciaran Doyle, Colm Killeen, Peter Walsh and Paulie Cunningham all acquitted themselves well. Others to play well were, Ronan O' Brien, Brendan Devitt, Ray Lamb and Mikey Brown. Scorers: Mikey Brown 1-04, Paddy Moynihan 1-01, Conor Flannery 1-01, Paul Cunningham 1gl., Ross Mc Anaspie 1pt.

Ladies reach Senior championship final
The senior Ladies footballers reached the championship final after a long battle with Arklow Geraldines on Sunday. The Aughrim pitch was in excellent condition when the match began, but was unrecognizable an hour later as the 'four seasons in one day' cliche held true. Blistering sun gave way midway through the first half to incessant rain and hail, with an extra-time display of thunder and lightning. Bray were two points down at half time after a poor display in the forward line, but pulled themselves together in the second half and began to control the game. However, a last minute shot drifted wide and extra-time in the Aughrim swamp beckoned. Bray grabbed the win in the end with a timely goal and some battling defensive work.

The final is fixed for Sunday week (25th), further details next week.

Senior Hurling
The Bray Emmets Senior Hurlers beat Arklow Geraldines with a scoreline of 1-15 to 2-9 on Saturday last at Old Conna. This was a very good result especially as several regular players were missing. It was an overall good team display with all players making their mark. There were a few notable contributions from Paddy Millward and Tadhg OBroin in the full-back line, Eamonn Furlong at centre-back and Paddy Lee  in the forwards.
The Team was M Priest(Sen), P. Millward, T OBroin,C Walshe, M Priest(Jun), D Eglington, E Furlong, D Rossiter, P Kiely, M Byrne, Ed Keating, D Heffernan, C OKeefe,P Lee, D Glynn.

Minor Football Championship Round 1
St Pats 2-14   Bray Emmets  2-9
This was Bray Emmets first match this year and it showed, with a lot of rustiness on display. With the aid of a strong wind, St Pats raced into an early lead with the score at 1-8 to 0-1 after twenty minutes. At this stage Bray looked in a lot of trouble with the backs conceding a lot of frees. St Pats had an excellent free taker who punished us all the time within 50 metres of the goal. Then the real potential and character of Bray came to the fore, with an excellent worked goal by the wing back Fergal Devlin and points by  David Haughton,  Sean Byrne, and Gearoid O'Murchu meaning that Bray went in at half time only 4 points behind, with  the aid of a strong wind in the second half to come.  Immediately on the resumption,  Bray scored another point and it looked good at  this stage. However it was a false dawn with again Bray conceding two more frees and points to Pats.  Bray Emmets fell away with two many players taking wrong options and rushing things, and St Pats raced into a strong lead of 2-12 to 1-6. Again Bray rediscovered their form led by a strong 'never say die' performance by Paul Cunningham who created havoc anytime he got good quick ball, which was not often enough. A goal by Gareth Crowley, after good work by Paul, briefly threatened a revival but  it was not to be.

The team have a lot of work to put in over the next couple of weeks but  the positives are that there were spells where the team showed  that they have  tremendous potential  to have a good campaign. They just need to show greater consistency, belief and work rate, and cut out the fouling. The statistics showed that St Pats scored 12 points of their total from frees. Also, not enough of the players played to their full potential, with only Paul Cunningham,  Fergal Devlin, and in patches David Haughton  showing good form over the 60 minutes.

Carnew end Junior Hurlers Unbeaten Run:
Carnew: 3 -7  Bray Emmets :1 -7

On July 4th the junior hurlers travelled to Carnew for their final league game on the back of an unbeaten 8 game run. Despite the awful weather conditions both these top two placed teams produced some fine hurling. Carnew got off to the better start with two quick goals while Brays only points of the first half came from Colm Browne. In the second half Bray upped their performance considerably resulting in a goal by Derek Heffernan and three unanswered points by Elliot Douglas and Colm Browne.
However Carnew held on for a victory to end Brays unbeaten run. Both teams are now guaranteed a championship semi final spot.

Girls under 12 Football
An Tochar 1-5 Bray Emmets 4-5
Bray Emmets girls played An Tochar in an U 12 football match on Sunday. Bray applied a lot of pressure on the Roundwood goal early on and Aoife O'Donovan scored 2 goals from midfield to give Bray an early lead. Bray were dominating possesion finding it difficult to translate their dominance in to scores. Siofra Heffernan scored 2-2 from midfield and Cathy Waters, Elizabeth Curran and Anna Hall, in her last game with the club all chipped in with points. Roundwood pressed hard in the second half but couldn't break down the Bray defence with Beth Cummins very strong in the Bray goal. Niamh Drury played a storming game at left corner back with able support from Clodagh Sherlock and Naoise Concannon. All the Bray girls played out of their skins. All the team and mentors would like to wish Anna, Ellen and their parents and Cormac our mascot all the best in there move to Cork they will be missed.

Summer Camp
The first week of the summer-camp was a great success, with 150 attendees ranging in age from 5 to 13. Despite the rain, there were no cancelled days and the attendance throughout the week was almost 100%. The club's facilities enabled us to have music and a quiz when the rain got the upper hand, but generally we just kept playing through the downpours. Club coach Paddy Monaghan was delighted with the structure of the camp and gave all the children a few sessions in SAQ training techniques each day also. The player(s) of the camp were Ben & Eoin McCormack and the award was presented by our guest on Friday, Dara O'hAnnaidh, who then went on to star for Wicklow on Saturday in their win against Offaly. Camp organisers Christy Maloney and Oisin O'hAnnaidh would also like to congratulate camp coaches Eadaoine Lenihan, Helen Kirwan, Aisling O'hAnnaidhe and Jessica Concannon on the Ladies' team win on Sunday in the torrential rain in Aughrim. Maybe those soakings during the week helped! The more senior of the lads coaches headed up to OXEGEN, taking a well-deserved break from their hard work at the camp. This week the hurling camp is going strong, and while the weather is taking it's toll, everyone is enjoying the camaraderie.

League points for Senior men's footballers.
Bray Emmets 2.07 St. Patrick's 1.05
The Emmet's senior footballers collected two points in their league match with St. Patrick'sWicklow Town at Old Connaught on Saturday 30th June. The Emmet's had a poor start to the game and allowed St Patrick's take a 1-02 to 1pt lead. The St. Pat's goal came from a penalty taken by Paul Earls. A switch of positions between the O' hAnnaidh brothers, Daragh and Oisin led to an improved display by the Emmet's. A goal and a point from corner forward Des Kelly at the end of the first half left the Emmet's leading by two points at half time. An improved display in the second saw the Emmet's dominate the game but the old problem of not taking easy scoring chances was evident again. Mid-way through the second half, Tom Walshe scored a fine goal but other goal opportunities were missed including a penalty. Paul O'Keefe made a welcome return to goal, the backline, with Daragh O'hAnnaidh commanding the square, played well after a shaky start. The midfield pairing of Brian O Keefe and Tom Walshe broke even. The best of the forwards were Eamonn Furlong and Des Kelly. The three substitutes that came on, Niall McGraynor, Ross McAnaspie and Brendan Devitt all contributed to this win. Scorers: Conor Flannery(0-6), Des Kelly(1-1), Tom Walshe(1-0).

Men's Senior footballers get second win in championship.

The Emmet's senior footballers collected their second brace of points in the championship with a 2-9 to 0-9 victory over Newtown in Greystones on Thursday evening 21 st June.  On a m id-summers evening, that was more like the middle of January, the Emmet's played their best football in the first half.  A great start saw them lead by 1-3 to no score after ten minutes, the goal being scored by Ray Lamb.  Newtown then came more into the game but the Emmet's kept up their attacking game and scored a cracking second goal, scored by John O'Keefe after he was set up by Tom Walshe. The half-time score was 2-07 to 0-3 in favour of the Emmet's.  At the start of the second half, the Emmet's scored a point to go further ahead but a number of very scoreable opportunities were missed by the forwards which would have sealed the game.  Those missed chances allowed Newtown back into the match and they kicked some good points to reduce the score to 6points at the final whistle. This was a good all round team performance, particularly in the first half but the team cannot afford to miss the type of scoring opportunities they fluffed in the second half. It was nice to see Niall McGraynor come on in the last ten minutes to play his first match in seven weeks. The whole back-line as unit played well, the midfield of Tom Walshe and Brian O'Keefe dominated. The forwards did very well in the first half but were not as sharp in the second.
Team: John Walsh, Ronan O' Brien, Oisin O'hAnnaidh, Alan Corr, Liam Mc Graynor, Daragh O'hAnnaidh, Ciaran Cassidy, Tom Walshe(0-1), Brian O' Keefe, Ray Lamb (1-0), Eamonn Furlong (0-1), John O' Keefe (1-2), Des Kelly (0-1), Conor Flannery (0-3). Subs used: Paddy Moynihan (0-1), Niall Mc Graynor.
The Last match in the group is against An Tochar.
Thanks to our supporters who braved the elements on the night, you do make a big difference.   Thanks to the Eire Og Club, particularly Patsy and Ray for, as usual, having everything so well organised.
The next game is a league match against the county champions, St. Patrick's in Old Connaught on Saturday 30th June. Please check fixture list in Bray People .

Minor Hurling Championship Bray Emmets 2-11, Greystones 3-9.
Bray exited the Minor Hurling Championship on Sunday after a magnificent second half comeback which saw them come from 8 points down to almost clinch a draw. Bray were on the attack inside the 14, Gearoid O' Murchu had the ball in his hand and the net was about to dance when the ref Con Keddy suddenly blew full time. As John Henderson had just been pulled down in the square we thought we had a penalty but it was the final whistle. A pity that the end came like this but we learn from these experiences. While Bray played well and all the players did the club proud we never lead in the game and struggled all day to come to terms with a more determined Greystones side. At half time Greystones lead 2-7 to 1-3 and Bray were struggling in most areas of the field. However we  were not County Champions for nothing and we dug in and  but for some wayward shooting could have won. We wish Greystones well in the final and we move on. We thank the players and mentors who were committed,  This year we never managed to put out a consistent team between injuries, examinations, suspensions and holidays. For the future we should note that the Leaving certificate is in June and we cannot prepare a team while they are studying for important exams. Bray were forced to play the semi final of an A Championship in the same week the Leaving Cert ended and missing 4  of our first 15 players. Today we were missing, Paul and Ronan Cunningham, Tommy Hamill and Aaron Murphy.  Best for Bray on the day were David Houghton, Gearoid O'Murchu, Padraigh Reynolds and Elliot Douglas.
Bray; Peter O'Reilly, Sean Prendergast, Padraigh Reynolds, Eoin Brazil, Jordan Lee, Cathal Wogan, David Houghton (0-3, Aaron Shortt, Elliot Douglas, Lorcan Pratt, Gearoid O Murchu (0-6), Willie Keane, Tom Cash (1-2),  Fionn Cotter, Mark Cowley, John Henderson (1-0), Dara Maloney, Harry Stephenson, Niall O'Suilleabhain, David Ebbs, David Bermingham, Dominic Broughan.

Under 14 Hurling - Bray 5-7, Cuala 3-5.
Chris Lyons gave another great display at centre back to drive Bray to this victory over neighbours Cuala.  Emmets are still on a high after the great displays in the Feile and continued with that gutsy, determined style at Old Conna on Tuesday evening.  Cuala led at half time by 3-3 to 2-4 after a whirlwind start which saw Cuala score 3 goals. Bray's response was a goal from Luke Maloney and another from Mikey Lee when his long free deceived the defence and dropped into the top of the net. Points from Mikey and a score from Lee Brandon made up our half time total. In the second half Bray dominated in their own  half back line and drove forward relentlessly. Cian O'Byrne doubled on a shot from Mikey and added another almost immediately when Lyons played a great ball into the corner and Cian's high shot went in over the keeper. Another long free from Lyons was batted into their own net by Cuala.  Mark Lennon made his debut in goal after Josh Connolly was injured. Jim Doyle had a storming game at full back with Cathal O'Duileachain mopping up everything across the width of the pitch. Lyons was on fire at centre back aided and abetted by Diarmuid Masterson  and Karl O'Brien while Philip Houghton despite a thigh strain used all his strength to win ball and drive forward. Up front Maloney, Alan Dougan and Cian O'Byrne caught the eye and got some great scores while Adam Conway gave his now usual 110% and Tadhg Dornan kept the Cuala centre back quiet with his physical approach. Oscar Cotter played well when introduced as did Rusty while Daragh Lohan was neat and tidy in the corner. Bray Emmets are now top of the league with 9 wins from 10 games, our only loss was to Cuala in an earlier game.

All Ireland Feile Competition held in Carlow and Kilkenny.

Bray Emmets represented Wicklow in the All-Ireland Feile last week-end and played in Division 2 of the competition. The Results of Division 2 were as follows;
Bray Emmets 0-9, St Mullins  1-2.
Bray Emmets 4-10, Inistioge   0-4.
Slaughtneil Derry)  2-4, Bray 1-5.

Bray Emmets were hosted by the St Mullins club and played their first match on Friday 15th in really bad weather conditions. St Mullins opened brightly and scored 2 points folowed by a goal and Bray were in trouble. St Mullins had the advantage of the weather and we were not playing well. Bray moved Philip Houghton to wing back and the game changed with
us scoring 9 points on the trot with some magnificent scores by Mikey Lee and Chris Lyons. The half back line of Houghton, Lyons and Diarmuid Masterson pulled us through in the teeming rain. Chris Lyons was outstanding in this game.

On Saturday morning after the jerseys had been washed and dried by the St Mullins parents we took on the famed Inistioge and our team settled early and scored freely. We agreed with Inistioge to lift the 5 substitutes rule and all our players got a game.

On Saturday afternoon we met our old friends Slaughtneil from Derry and this was the final as they had also won their opening 2 games. Bray opened up on fire and Cian OByrne scored 2 massive scores in the context of the final game. Slaughtneil replied with a point from a free and then after some sustained pressure and a fabulous save by Jim Doyle we did
not clear the ball and Slaughtneil got a goal. The game was on big time with the blocking and hooking and the level of intensity of a really good hurling game. Bray did not lie down and Luke Maloney scored a great goal which the keeper could only push up into the top of the net. Mikey Lee and Chris Lyons added further points to leave the game at halt time
Bray 1-4 , Slaughtneil 1-2.
At the start of the second half Cian O'Byrne finished another good attack by Bray for a further point. Slaughtneil tried everything and we had some fine attacks cleared off the line  or shots dropping short because of the slight breeze. The crowd from Bray, Derry, Kilkenny and
Carlow were in a frenzy as the game entered the last minute and Bray led by a point. During the second half all our defenders really shone, led by Hugh Douglas and Pierse Sweeney and never gave Slaughtneil a clear scoring opportunity while maintaining their composure. Late on Slaughtneil hit the post and it looked like it was Bray's day however the Slaughtneil danger man got one last chance and although he was hooked the ball rolled over the line in slow motion and we were gone. This was an epic contest befitting the Feile where two well matched teams played their hearts out and Bray are very proud of their young hurlers and the people of St Mullins and around that part of Carlow, Kilkenny believe we have a great team, well disciplined and lovely characters.
On saturday evening we finished off the feile with a game between Bray and St Mullins  which included all our players and a few young supporters that travelled and Bray also won that game with great displays by Padraigh Doyle and Sean Maloney and a few cracking goals from Alan Dougan.

Overall we had a great time with most of the lads living with Farming families. The host families washed the childrens gear on Saturday night after they had been playing together in the beautiful village green and mound which they used as a slide. The gear was washed so that they could wear it to a "Hurling Mass" on Sunday where the Bray lads took an active
part in the readings and bringing up the gifts which included a Bray Emmets jersey,
Finally thanks to all the parents and children for representing the club so well and to the St Mullins Club for a great memorable weekend and also to our sponsors the ESB Networks, and Leinster GAA Development Officer Michael Neary..
Bray: Josh Connolly, Muiris O'Floinn, Pierse Sweeney, Cathal O'Duileachain, Diarmuid  Masterson, Hugh Douglas, Karl O'Brien, Mikey Lee, Nicholas Sweeney, Chris Lyons, Adam Conway, Tadhg Dornan, Philip Houghton, Cian O'Byrne, Luke Maloney, Enda Molloy, Daragh Lohan, Oscar Cotter, Mark Lennon, Kelvin Keane, Ryan Fagan, Alan Dougan, Jim Doyle, John Gallagher.

Emmet's Men's Senior Footballers win in Championship .
Bray Emmets 2-14, Tinahely 1-7;

The Emmet's men's senior team had a good win over Tinahely in Arklow on 9th June, 07, in the first match in the group stages of the 2007 championship. The Emmets started well and were four points up when they conceded a very soft goal which kept Tinahely in the match.  The Emmets scored some nice points and led at half-time by 10pts to 1-2.

In the second half, the Emmets continued to press and goals by Paddy Moynihan and Mikey Browne sealed the game.  Tom Walshe made his debut and with Brian O Keefe they swung mid-field. Two other players also making their debuts also acquitted themselves very well, Paul Barry and Ciaran Cassidy. After conceding that early goal, the whole back line tightened up and had the upper hand on their opponents.  It was also nice to see five of the forwards get on the scoreboard. This was a good team display and the management team will be happy but they will also know that an even better performance will be required against Newtown in the next game. That next game against Newtown may now be on Thursday 21 June in Greystones. The other two teams in the group are Newtown and An Tochar.  Newtown beat An Tochar in their first match

Team: John Walsh, Paul Barry, Oisin O'Hannaidh, Alan Corr, Liam McGraynor, Daragh O'Hannaidh, Ciaran Cassidy, Tom Walshe(0-1), Brian O'Keefe, John O'Keefe(0-3), Brendan O'Hannaidh(0-2), Ray Lamb, Paddy Moynihan(1-2), Mikey Browne(1-1), Conor Flannery(0-5), Subs used: Des Kelly, Ciaran Doyle, Eamonn Furlong, Ross McAnaspie.

Under 14 Hurling Championship v Glenealy

Bray played the second match in the U14 Hurling League/ Championship on Tuesday in Old Conna and won comfortably in the end. Bray had most of the Feile squad on duty and would have expected to play well. However after a bright opening we went asleep at the start of the second half and Glenealy were almost level before we started to play again and get the vital scores to close out the match. Bray led by 1-8 to 1-0 at half time and were coasting but Glenealy scored a goal right from the throw in and added 2 more in ten minutes before Bray caught their breadth. A 5 minute spell which yielded 2-1 for Bray killed off Glenealy. Again it was Mikey Lee, the Sweeney's, Chris Lyons, Luke Maloney and Cian O'Byrne who hurled well.

Bray: Jim Doyle, Muiris O'Floinn, Pierse Sweeey, Dara Lohan, Enda Molloy, Chris Lyons (0-2), Diarmuid Masterson, Mikey Lee (0-7), Nicholas Sweeney (1-0), Aldam Conway, Philip Houghton, Lee Brandon, Cian O'Byrne (3-2), Tadhg Dornan, Luke Maloney (0-3), Cathal O'Dualachain, Josh Connolly, John Gallagher,Ryan Fagan,Alan Dougan.

Under 14 ladies Football: Bray Emmets  9-5  Valleymount 2-4.

The Bray girls proved too strong for the girls from the West last Wednesday in Old Conna. With some of the regulars doing end of year exams we had to rely on 4 of the u-12 panel to make the numbers and they put in a wonderful display. Alisha and Sorcha dominated midfield and gave a plentiful supply of ball to their inside forwards.Sharp shooter Ellen led by example and was well supported by her tenacious sister Anna and Rachel. Lauran scored 3 beautiful points from play while Ziofra and Niamh worked their socks off all over the field.
The injured Emily stood in the  nets and dealt comfortably with every ball that came her way. Full back Eimear also carrying an injury, oozed confidence and got great support from Aoife and Niamh. New-comer Asia grows in confidence with every match while Jennifer and Avril tackled and defended heroically. This was another great performance from the Bray girls in which everyone performed to the best of their ability.
Scorers: Ellen Hall 3-1, Alisha Doyle 2-1, Lauran Rowe 1-3 Rachel Britton 1-0, Aoife O Driscol 1-0, Ziofra Heffernan1-0.

Intermediate football Championship: Bray Emmets 0-9, St Patrick's 0-9:
The Emmets ers battled hard to dig out a draw in the first round of the 2007 Championship against St Pats in Newtown on Friday evening. Emmets, like St Pats, are the only clubs in the county with football teams at Senior, Intermediate and Junior grades. Credit to the team manager John Curran who had to work his socks off  to field a team on a bank holiday weekend. The team welcomed  Keith Hillick back, who had a fine game, stopping two certain goal chances. Also returning was Dara Gaskin who's presence steadied the ship at the back. Emmets got off to a good start with 3 fine points from Breslin, McNicholas and Ryan, before Pats got off the mark. Breslin, the goalkeeping full-forward, produced a magic side step on the way to his score (and we'll never hear the end of it). But it was St Pat's who bossed the rest of the first half to lead 0-6 to 0-4 at the halfway stage. Emmets started the second half strongly but failed to make it tell on the scoreboard and Pat's stayed two point clear right up to the closing few minutes. Two excellent scores from Kelly and Fitzpatrick got us to within a point before the Emmets lads fought back to equalise with a last minute free from McNicholas. This well deserved championship point was due mostly to a very solid performance by the Emmets backs, who kept the Pats forwards to only two points from play. Best for Bray were, Keith Hillick, Colm Johnson, Mark Mulvaney, Paul Barry, Dara Gaskin, Des Kelly and Colm Kileen. Thanks to all the players who turned up on the day. Also, thanks to the Senior players and management for their support, and not forgetting the usual band of dedicated followers.  Finally, best wishes to all the students on the panel who are heading to Canada and the US for the summer.

Under 14 Hurling League/Championship Bray Emmets beat Eire Og.
Bray U14 Hurlers had a big win over Greystones in the U14 Hurling League/Championship played in Old Conna on Friday night. The game was played as 13 a side as so many of our squad were away for the Bank Holiday weekend. We called up two U12 players Mark Lennon and Dara Henderson to make up 13.  Greystones started brightly and should have had a goal early on and appeared to be troubling the Emmets rear guard, however once Mikey Lee scored the first point the game changed and Bray went on to lead by 1-7 to 0-0 at half time Just after half time Bray scored their second goal and this left Greystones in a hopeless position. Bray were far crisper strikers on both left and right and scored some delightful points particularly Mikey Lee. At the back Bray did not concede frees and were very controlled in blocking down or intercepting.  Greystones battled away but could not breach our goal where Jim Doyle was outstanding, outside him Pierse Sweeney and Muiris O'Floinn played really well. The sextet in the middle of Lee, Lyons,  Houghton, Henderson, Masterson and Nicholas Sweeney really dominated their area with some lovely passing and running into space. In the half forward line, Bray had Luke Maloney battling away and winning frees and Mark Lennon moving the ball very quickly. In front of the goal Alan Dougan kept the full back line busy and any loose balls that broke were converted by Cian O'Byrne.
